Who Am I: My name is Shaun I am a 24 year old living in Washington. I am a computer tech of sorts.

Hardware/Internet: Intel core 2 Duo Wolfsdale 8600 with 4 gigs of RAM and a Geforce x260 overclocked GFX card. My ISP is Comcast

Armory: My armory is all messed up because I just faction changed but here is a chardev. http://www.chardev.org/?profile=373374

Spec: I am currently a 57/14/0 Disc spec. I do however have a decent shadow set and would be willing to go shadow for raiding. I'm also PvP disc for arena people.

Professions: I am 450 Alchemy and 450 Engineer to supplement PvP and shadow PvE DPS.

Guild/Raiding History: I originally was in Ruined on Proudmoore back in 04. We got the first Ony kill back in the day.  More recently I was a trial recruit for Mediocrity on Blackrock but transferred to this server on ally side to play with friends. I raided with Section Eight and have beaten LK on 10 and 25 modes and am 8/12 heroic 10 and 4/12 heroic 25 ICC.

My Alts: I have a 80 DK and Shaman on Ally side. I might transfer them in the future. Also I have a pally on another server.

Why I Am Applying to Civilian: I love to raid and beat hard encounters. Beating bosses that I have not beaten before or hardmodes that I haven't done before is what I want for raiding. I believe you guys have the same goal and ability to do that. Even if I am a bencher I also PvP and am willing to sit or get called in for the greater good in guild progression.

Why Civilian Should Want Me: I would say I'm a good learner and I know and read up on boss mechanics and fights. I come prepared for wipefests and progression alike and am willing to keep trying different strats until the boss goes down. I know my class mechanics well and am willing to do and/or spec whatever the guild needs me for. My gear is somewhat all over the place due to having to switch specs between holy and disc from my last guild but I also have a decent shadow set if I am called on to DPS. All in all I would say at very least I would be a stable backup if not a raider for Civilian.

What I Need To Improve: Its tough to say because I can't really think of anything I need to improve besides specializing ym gear to a straight disc set or straight holy set. Also I feel my key bindings could use some changing around and I am experimenting with that with my PvP spec currently. Also I kind of still have it in my head that I need to do all the different healing roles in raids and most of the time don't trust the other raids healers to keep up but I have to face the facts that as Disc I can be a very powerful support healer and should trust in everyone else to do their job as well.

The Hardest Lesson I Learned In WoW: I guess it would be that like in the response above. Priests are not the end all be all healers like in Vanilla. It was hard to get out of that mode but in the end I do like the direction blizzard went with priests even though I do believe they could use some help.

My Role in Raiding: It really depends on what spec you need me at. Disc I bubble raid damage and make sure tanks are getting healed keeping grace on them as well a throwing out my PoM and PIing the top magic  DPSer for uber deeps. Holy I would renew people saving SoL for emergencys and CoHing raid damage to top people off as well as using my CD on tanks when big damage spikes are coming up. I personally do like lightwell for 1 talent point so I use that as well for 12-15k healing to either myself or anyone willing to use it.

My Favorite Raid Bosses: As a healer mostly I just heal on boss fights so really all my favorite fights are ones with interesting mechanics like blood queen and the vampire having to bite people. Dreamwalker of course is fun. old school patchwerk was a ton of fun due to the crazy amount of healing needed. and pretty much all of BT was fun.

Did icc10 with him, he is incredibly good at his class, i support this, though im not down with all the priest specs and gear choices

On your armory i see you have disc as main spec and pvp disc as offspec. 

Which role are you actually applying for?

You have Shadow before disc in the title of your app, so i am going to assume this is a shadow app. 

• With the faction change why did you choose bloodelf over troll?
• What is your dps rotation? - how much dps do you normally pull?
• Most shadow priest have a long ramp up time on their dps, do you see any methods to shorter the ramp up time and increase your dps rate like a arc mage?

Your on Comcast. Do you have any latency issues when everything around you is in chaos?

When your armory is finished transferring I would kindly ask you to post that so we can better take a look at your gear/spec/achievements/glyphs.

Without your armory working its kinda hard to ask you gear/spec questions.

Anyways, we can start the app off with some other things:

1. Can you please list your current addons for Disc/Holy & Shadow separately (per spec of course).

2. Post a link of your UI (In combat please). If they vary per spec it would be nice to see more then one!

3. In Civilian all of our priests are expected to play Disc, Holy and Shadow. You stated you have experience as Holy. So can you please list any fights that may require a special spec or talent to either benefit raid healing or your individual performance (and also list the talents required). (This goes for any spec)

When you answer these I'll have more stemming off, as well as when your armory gets corrected.

I'm actually a healing priest primarily(Although I'm apping for whichever spec you would need for raiding) as I said in my armory it is messed up and is showing my priest when it was human and was Disc/Disc pvp with PvP gear on.

• I actually chose bloodelf over troll as a personal choice and for PvP/PvE healing but not as a min/max for shadow DPS

 What is your dps rotation? - how much dps do you normally pull?

• On a target dummy with my gear I would pull about 5200-5300 self buffed. My rotation would be Mindflayx3 Mindflayx2 this being for both my BM proc and my engineering chant being binded to my mindflay button. after the inital start I would stick to at priority system   VT<DP<SW:P<MB<MFso in essence VT up DP up SWP up then MB if MB is down then MF and refesh SW:P only if there are any new +dmg or +crit debuffs on target.

Most shadow priest have a long ramp up time on their dps, do you see any methods to shorter the ramp up time and increase your dps rate like a arc mage?

• This is why I wait for both BM and my Glove buff to proc before applying my VT or DP due to both of them being affected by haste. Also if I wish I could reapply my VT/DP when the Black Magic procs to increase my DPS also dropping MB in my rotation when Bloodlust is up

•  Nope no latency Issues

•  I transfered to this server and alliance because of my friend. He quit the guild and is transfering off the server. So I decided to go back horde due to the fact there are only 1700 level 80 toons on alliance side not counting people with multiple 80s so I decided to come back to my hordies.

• I currently use: Gird, PowerAuras, DBM, Quartz, Skada, Bartender, Stuf Unit Frames, Fortexorcist, PoM tracker, and Milk Scrolling Battle Text... I use them pretty much equally for all specs.

•  Obviously the most apparent encounter for Disc is Lich King and for Holy is Dreamwalker for Guardian Spirit. Each other fight could go either way.. while Holy has a lot more usage in ICC... If you have good raid heals already with druids/shamans it could be argued that having a Disc priest shielding would help immensly reducing the amount of raid raid healing needed.

•  It was a personal choice for me. Obviously I had to be both most of the time but I believe disc has some real power withits shields even if its not going to show on meters or put out amazing HPS.

What order do you rank stats in importance for Disc?  What about Holy?

•  Disc is easily SP<Int<Crit<Haste<Spirit with stam thrown in there of course. Holy I would say SP<Haste<Spirit<Int<Crit for me.

•  I left because my friend who I left Blackrock for decided to gquit and leave me :(:(. I was horde on Blackrock and went alliance to raid with him but now that he's gone I'm horde again :D

You mention your Armory being wonky.  I agree.  Any clue on when this will be resolved?  Look like you JUST faction changed very very recently?

•  I faction changed last night. It still shows me as human and in PvP gear. I am unaware as to why its memssed up so I'm not sure when it will get fixed.

Well your armory seems to be fixed and I'm questioning your gemming and enchanting choices for disc.  Can you tell me what I think is wrong and what I think you should do instead if you are a Disc priest?  I also think they are out of whack for a holy priest so saying you've changed specs recently won't bail you out.

Thanks for apping.. We have more priests than we can shake a stick at right now and rather than waste your time I'm just going to say good luck in your guild search.

I can agree with you my gems are out of whack for a Disc(Dedicated) spec because of the spirit gems. Like I said I prefer Disc over Holy but I did have to be Holy AND Disc for S8 and obviously Holy was more viable and needed at the time and that is why I have Sp/Spirit gems in my gear... while I could change them all to something to straight spell power and lose some of the socket bonuses, it would be kind of silly if I was to be recruited in a guild as Holy anyways. If you're questioning my SP/Haste gems then I don't know what to say about that... The top 3 throughput stats for Disc is SP<Crit<Haste and Holy SP<Haste<Crit gemming Crit is downright silly at higher levels of Crit and noone EVER gems Crit therefore gemming haste is the next best thing because I have no mana problems and gemming Int would reduce potential throughput. Also, I don't see anything wrong with my enchants except for maybe someone could argue about having tuskars on my boots instead of spirit.



Anyway, I really wish I could have been told there wasn't a need for priests much sooner so we could have avoided wasting both my time and yours... I guess I'll stick it out solo. Best of luck to you guys.
